C4B partners explore biogas innovation and sustainable forestry during study visit to Italy
As part of the C4B project, Fondazione Agrifood & Bioeconomy FVGwelcomed representatives from project partner BioFuel Region (Sweden) for a study visit to Friuli Venezia Giulia, in north-eastern Italy.
The visit focused on exchanging knowledge and exploring opportunities for circular bioeconomy development, particularly in the biogas and forestry sectors.
Exploring circular bioeconomy solutions
The programme included two key activities:
- Biogas and biomethane innovation: A technical visit to the Essiccatoi FVG plant in Torricella, exploring biogas plant upgrading, advanced biomethane production and the diversification of organic feedstocks.
- Sustainable forestry: A meeting at CESFAM in Paluzza with regional forestry stakeholders to discuss sustainable forest management and the implications of the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) and Nature Restoration Law for the forestry sector.
Strengthening cooperation across Europe
Building on the previous C4B study visit to Sweden in 2025, this exchange provided another opportunity for partners to share experiences, discuss regional challenges and identify potential pathways for sustainable bio-based value chains.
Through these collaborative activities, C4B continues to promote knowledge exchange and innovative circular business models across European regions.
