C4B Engages University of Udine Students in Circular Bioeconomy Business Model Workshop

Last week, C4B project partner Fondazione Agrifood & Bioeconomy FVG, represented by Ilaria Marcolin and Francesco Coletti, delivered an interactive workshop at the University of Udine  as part of the Circular Economy and Environmental Management Systems course taught by Dr. Alberto Bertossi.

The session introduced students to the C4B project and its three Italian case studies, focusing on the wine, cereal and forestry value chains and their potential to transform by-products into high-value bio-based applications.

Particular attention was given to the innovative business model for recovering and valorising grape marc after spirits distillation.

Students also participated in an interactive business model stress test, using an online survey developed by project partner Wageningen University & Research to assess economic, environmental and social sustainability aspects.

The workshop provided an opportunity to connect academic learning with real-world circular bioeconomy challenges, encouraging future professionals to explore sustainable and innovative business opportunities.
