C4B at IFIB 2026: Strengthening Collaboration in the European Bioeconomy

The C4B project participated in the International Forum on Industrial Biotechnology and Bioeconomy (IFIB 2026), held in Rome, Italy, on 1–2 October 2026. The event brought together industry representatives, researchers, investors and policymakers to exchange knowledge and explore new opportunities for collaboration in the European bioeconomy.

C4B Representation at IFIB 2026

C4B was represented by PNO Innovation Italia, project coordinator and Gold Sponsor of IFIB 2026, together with project partner CluBE – Cluster of Bioeconomy and Environment of Western Macedonia.

During the event, Yiannis Fallas, General Director of CluBE, presented the C4B project and participated in networking activities aimed at strengthening connections between regional bioeconomy ecosystems and European stakeholders.

The project shared its work on developing fair, sustainable and replicable bio-based business models, supporting primary-sector value chains, rural development and new opportunities for farmers, SMEs and local communities.

Building Synergies with European Bioeconomy Projects

IFIB 2026 also provided an opportunity to connect with fellow EU-funded projects Bioneerand PyroCO2, exchange experiences and explore potential synergies in industrial biotechnology and the circular bioeconomy.

Discussions with representatives from European institutions, industry and research organisations highlighted the importance of cooperation in turning bio-based innovation into scalable and sustainable solutions.

Through its participation in IFIB 2026, C4B continued its communication, dissemination and stakeholder engagement activities, strengthening its visibility within the European bioeconomy ecosystem.
